Strength/Resistance Routine for Beginners??

I have always just done cardio but I have gotten advice to start replacing some of my cardio with strength training. I have never done strength training before so if anyone has a routine that would be good for me that would be awesome! I have access to a college gym. My goal is to drop 10 pounds by mid-May I currently weigh 131

    I weigh about that and I also have access to a college gym. I've started doing the New Rules of Lifting for Women program. It's recommended a lot around here and it's pretty great so far. The book was totally enjoyable to read too.
