Success without calorie counting?

Hey all,
I don't have much weight to lose, but I do want to get toned and most importantly healthy, and obviously this site is largely based on calorie logging to meet my type of goals. Unfortunately, I have a history of very disordered eating patterns (mostly associated with episodes of depression), and I'm concerned that counting calories will tempt me into engaging in those behaviors again. I am weight-restored, so working out isn't a problem, but I am determined not to make this a numbers game. That means:
No obsessive calorie counting.
No constantly weighing myself.
No stressing over every little up or down.
No basing my self worth on numbers.
I was hoping anyone could tell me if they believe it is possible to get a healthier body without counting calories, and if so, if they have any tips about certain foods types to definitely get in/how they've structured themselves to make sure they were eating the right amount/anything else that might be helpful.
Thanks!

While I find entering in what I eat helpful because of the accountability, I can understand your concerns. Alton Brown used a few lists to help him eat healthier.
A) Foods to eat daily: whole grains, leafy greens, nuts, green tea, carrots and fruitFoods to eat 3x per week: oily fish, avocado, sweet potato, broccoli, and ahhh there's one more!
C) Foods to eat no more than 1x per week: pasta, dessert, alcohol
D) Never ever! Anything listed as 'diet', canned soup, processed meals etc
Sorry the lists aren't complete, its on my fridge and I just check off as I get through the day/week, but maybe setting these types of goals is a better way to go so your don't get as hung up on the numbers but the quality of your food.
Be good to your body :0) and good luck-0
