My Motivation :)

Rediscovered that my kids are my greatest motivators. I had my middle child with me the other day (4 1/2 years). We had some time to kill between exercise class (he Zumba'd with me) and a meeting at work, which was nearby. We stopped at McDonald's to get a drink. He happened to see an apple lying in the backseat of the car (I try to keep healthy snacks with me). He asked if he could have it. I answered 'yes' at first, but then remembered that McDonald's has apple slices. He agreed to get apple slices there. When we got inside, I figured, surely he'd ask for ice cream or fries or something. I was kinda hoping he would. Nope. He still wanted apple slices. So proud of this kid :). He kinda put things into perspective for me. If he can see apple slices as a treat, I should be able to do the same. What's your motivation?

Omgosh is that ever cute!! What a bright boy you've got there! He's on the right track to good health. And you're leading the way by having that apple in your car and taking him to zumba. Good for you!!

My children (then 12,10 and 9) went to a party with my mom. I showed up late and was surprised by the astonished other parents there. It was a buffet style and the kids could take whatever they wanted. I was told about half of my children's plates was vegetables and that they completely passed on the chicken nuggets. Everyone wanted to know my secret.
Leading by example is the best way!
