What is it like? Does it tell you which workouts to do on which day? I know its very intense (and hard from what I hear!). How do you like it? How soon until you saw results?

I did three 90-day rounds of P90X last year. I started with the "Lean" program, then did a round of "Doubles" and then did a round of P90X+. The program comes with a nutrition and fitness guide. The guide will tell you the specific order of the 13 DVDs for the entire 90 days.
P90X takes a tremendous commitment, both with regards to fitness and nutrition. I found the first 30 days of the nutrition guide to be VERY challenging. It's quite low carb., and this is a carb loving girl. I found that the 2nd phase of the nutrition guide to be more to my liking (and something I could live with for the rest of my life).
The weight on the scale started dropping in the first week...however my physique didn't really start to change noticeably until day 60. I did get good results in my first 90 days. Did I get 'ripped'? No...but I was REALLY flabby and overweight when I began. As I said above, I then did two additional rounds...one of a doubles rotation (it was VERY difficult because you workout twice 3-4 days/week and MUST make sure you're fueling yourself sufficiently), and then one using the P90X+ workouts. You will get results if you push yourself hard every day and get your nutrition under control.
I have pictures posted on my Beachbody site (the link is in my signature). If you'd like to see them, just go to that site and then click on "My profile."0 -
Hi,
I tried starting P90x Lean over the summer, wasn't seeing results, but I also was traveling too & couldn't do it while traveling. I only got through 60 days of it. I wasn't on MFP yet while I was doing this, so I believe I was overeating. I had an ovarian cyst, so had to stop working out for about a month. This gave me a fresh start. I have been on MFP for 1.5 months and I'm starting week 3 of p90x classic version this week and am definitely seeing results. I do not follow the p90x nutrition guide, I follow the MFP. I've always been athletic, but I haven't lifted weights in a couple of years & I'm loving lifting weights again during p90x. Some days/weeks are harder than others, but you adjust to how you're feeling/what your body can/can't do, & you figure out where to push yourself more. Expect to spend 1 hour to 1.5 hours a day for 6 days a week doing p90x. Equipment to invest in: resistant bands OR free weights, a Yoga mat, and if you are Not using bands then a pull up bar. Any questions...feel free to ask! Good luck!0
