OK, folks, it is a FAQ. And I am tired of forgetting/mis-measuring...
So, take De Cecco Spaghetti No. 12. ... 85g = 300 calories
- is that cooked or uncooked?
- using fistful/deck of card kind of eyeball measurement, how much?
Thank you!

Found the answers. I know this has been discussed to death before
In case you are interested:
- De Cecco Spaghetti
DRY
- 85g (dry) = 1/6 box = 3 oz = 300 Calories
- 57g (dry) = 2 oz = 201 calories
COOKED (2 oz dry = 1 cup cooked)
- 1 cup = 201 calories
Approximates only of course.0 -
Talking about pasta calories, I read somewhere that one piece of plain cooked penne is about 9 cals.0

Wow, that's a bit crazy to count penne...but then again, it is easier than figuring out "a fistful of penne". Oh girl, I was just trying to get away from counting!0
