Calf Pain, Walking

Hi Guys! Please help. I can use the elliptical and walk through out my day fine but if I were to walk around a track type for my 30 min lunch (not fast mind you) within one min I would experience bad calf pains. Weird thing is I am usually a little squishy, but the calfs get rock hard.
Any ideas???

    Do you stretch?

Try using a foam roller and or ice pack

How much water do you drink a day? Are your shoes new or are they older than 6 months?

I don't do elliptical but when I first started running, my shins hurt. I wasn't hydrated enough and my shoes were old. As soon as I replaced my shoes and drank more water, I was fine

Switch directions(if you can) every few laps. I had the same thing happen then I started switching directions every 2 or 3 laps as long as the track wasn't full. Was it mainly your left shin?

    I'm sorry, its shins.

make sure you're drinking enough water, stretch before and after. if you are experiencing pain you could be developing shin splints and you don't want them. make sure you are not wearing old shoes.

Thanks. It is both shins but more on my left so I will try to switch it up. I can't buy new shoes right now but I can get in sols. Another thought is I wear heals all the time, and my legs aren't used to being flat.
