Not eating enough

So basically at first I was eating a lot on my diet but I suffer with depression which has been getting worse lately. Due to this I have not been eating nearly enough and mfp says I'm in starvation mode. What can I do?

I'm currently eating around 900 cals a day when I should be eating 1200 and I'm exercising an hour a day on a stationary bike burning around 750 cals

Eat more calorie dense foods so even if you don't eat a large amount you're at least getting in calories. Avocados, nuts, peanut butter (or other nut butters), full fat dairy (Milk, cheese, yogurt, etc). maybe enjoy some quality chocolate and Ice cream even.

I agree with Ready2Rock. Does this happen daily? If so, definately eat more calorie rich foods. If it's only like once a week but you meet your requirements usually, I wouldn't worry. I look at my weekly totals to determine if i'm eating enough (or too much). A couple days per week are my very high calorie burn exercise days so I often don't come close, but the other days make up for it. Also remember the exercise calorie calcluator on MFP usually estimates high, so it is recommended that you only eat back 50-75% of the exercise calories.
  • It's been happening everyday for the last two weeks.. I'm just never hungry! I have cereal after my workout and don't get hungry again until evening when just one small sandwich is enough. I don't feel like eating at all and have no idea what I can eat which will bring my calorie intake up!

^^This. The foods listed will give you more calories for less food. Maybe after your workout, have some toast with PB instead of cereal. Or a tofu (or other protein) smoothie. I know sometimes I get too busy and forget to eat, but my body pretty much lets me know when i've gone too long (dizziness).

I just want to know HOW do you have the energy to exercise hard enough to burn 750 calories in ONE hour on a bike? Something doesn't sound right here...
But if you need more calories people are right on here, try almonds, bagels, a scoop of ice cream and peanut butter.
