Eating too much or not enough?

Hello Everyone.

I'm 24, 5'5", and 143lbs, and lost 40 pounds a little over a year ago thanks to Turbofire and seriously restricting my calories (I did the 1200 thing for most of that loss time) which I regret a bit now though the weight fell off quickly. I'm now at maintenance, though I plan to start ChaLEAN Extreme as soon as it arrives on my doorstep.

I pretty consistently fluctuate with about 5lbs since I started eating more - I'm currently eating about 1650 calories a day. I have done some late night eating after getting home from my job (I work second shift), and I'm seriously trying to curb that. I know that'll help me some, but am I maybe eating too much or am I not eating enough? I'm also trying to workout at least 3 days a week until the new program arrives, then I'll do that one according to it's schedule. And I have a huge sweet tooth :/

I'm just really terrified about gaining the weight back, but I want to make sure I'm eating properly. Hoping to get some good advice on how many calories I should be eating :)

  • Hi, congrats on your weight loss! I know how you feel - I always get worried and stressed about gaining my weight back.

1650 calories is still pretty low so I don't think you will gain any weight at that number. Is that the number that MFP gave you for maintenance? If so, then stick with that and I'm sure you will maintain with no problems.

If you are eating the 1650 calories THEN mindlessly eating late night - then you may experience weight gain. But as long as you stick with your calorie goal, you will be fine. Try not to stress too much about it - that is when I usually get frustrated, don't care anymore and binge. Focus on your exercise and you shouldn't have trouble.

    Good luck :)
