I hate to admit that I am wrong...but my fiance is right. I am so self defeating. when I recently lost 5 pounds my instant thought was "man ive lost a lot of water weight the scale will show my actual size next time" through my work outs I am always saying I can't do it, and my boss even said I look like ive lost weight this week and I denied it. ive lost inches, pant sizes, and weight. why am I in such denial? will it ever end?

If you recognize the progress you are making, you raise your hopes and expectations and then if it doesn't get any farther it will be so much more disappointing. It's easier to deny any progress and not have to feel like you could do it but let your self fail than it is feel like you just can't do it.
When I say "you" I don't mean you specifically but more for some people this is the case.
Sometimes the hardest part is to just get out of your own mind. I hope you can get to a point where you can celebrate your victories!0 -
Maybe if you started being more positive you would feel better and want to accomplish even more.0

Being pessimistic is a lot easier, you're rarely disappointed. When you're an optimist and things don't work out you're disappointed, when you're a pessimist an things don't work out you're vindicated.0

If you take pictures of yourself as you lose, you'll be able to see the difference there if you don't see it in the mirror.0
