New hip and now hoping to lose weight!

Hi everyone. I am recovering from a hip replacement and now I am at the stage where I can start to walk longer distances - for the first time in years! I really want to lose weight to become more fit and healthy and to make sure I am not putting too much stress on my new hip. I need to make sure my diet is healthy so I grow back muscle and bone, but lose weight too. I'm aiming to lose I pound per week. Any advice and encouragement would be greatly appreciated! :smile:
