"Nutrient Details" Question

After spending two years on Weight Watchers - one year to lose 70 pounds and a year in maintenance I am now "doing it on my own" with the help of the My Fitness Pal app. I'm doing fine staying within my calorie range, but am curious about my nutrition. I keep an eye on my carbs, fat etc. on a daily basis, but wonder about the Weekly Nutrient Details I can see.

Is this just to give me an idea of what I have done for the week? Or are there there people that practice staying within the "weekly goal" instead of daily? Not sure if there is a difference / advantage to either.

Thanks!

First, congrads! As you already know your body takes a little bit to "notice" changes, taking this into account tracking daily makes it easier to hit your goals weekly...monthly, etc. If there's anytime you're over in your #s on a given day you can easily make this up within the next day or two it's although harder for you if you really over-due it because you can't cut a big amount out of your dailiy intake because you'll be hungrier then a bear waking up in the spring.

With the above being said, this tracking can help you plan your meals easier which helps you stick to your goals. I personally try hitting my daily goals while knowing if I go over for whatever reason I'll have some work ahead of me. But remembering that time is on my side and I can stick to this plan and try to plan my meals as best I can.
