I just had a root canal the other day, and I don't have a crown on it yet, so it is very brittle. I am having trouble meeting my calorie goal because it's hard to eat. I need soft foods that are easy to eat, but fairly healthy. Any ideas?

  • Hello. I also just had a root canal done yesterday. I have been eating soups low in sodium or you can make a nice vegetable soup and eggs.

it might sound gross and look even worse, but i suggest using a blender/food processor and making your meals into more of a soup. ive had to do that exact thing before and its not as bad as it seems. steam veggies, add a little seasoning for taste, some low sodium chicken stock to thin it to consistency you want, slurp it up......

Protein shakes? Not exclusively, but should help fill some gaps, especially since protein is probably one of the hardest things to work into a no-chew diet.
