Hey all,
Starting strong lifts next week. Any pointers for using the programme you've found? Also I watched the mehdi videos and he reckons to lifts really fast but that seems like a good road to snap-city, how do you avoid injury lifting like he does?

personally I would take my time doing the lifts and concentrate on good form, I am on day 13 week 5 and started with the empty bar on everything but squats and deadlifts....0

The biggest focus is starting small, start with the 45lbs, make sure you have proper form w/light weight so you have quality form when it gets heavy. If in doubt you can always do a trial membership at a gym and see about a trainer confirming your form. Just a thought.0

Yeah form first, but once you have form get as heavy as you can without sacrificing form. SL is low volume high intensity, so if you just lift the bar it's about as useful as not lifting at all.0

I felt the same way about the speed of his lifts.
I prefer to go slow and concentrate on contracting the muscles...0 -
Search on "mark rippetoe" on youtube. His videos on lifting form are much better IMO.0
