I wouldn't really call this a success story but I'll answer anyways
I eat 1200-1400 calories a day and I run/walk/sprint on the treadmill for around 25 minutes or two miles and I use the elliptical for 25 minutes or do two miles also, both everyday. Ontop of that I started doing strength training too just recently and I already see results from it, just from doing twenty reps of each thing around 5-10 times and I use light weights I've seen improvements with my body and it's only been two weeks so I would recommend it0 -

Monday, Wednesday, Friday - cardio + C25k training (on treadmill) : aim to burn 1000 kCal
Tuesday, Thursday - strength training : aim to burn as many kCals as possible
Saturday & Sunday - mix : aim to burn 1000 kCal
I enjoy the burn and also the freedom to eat back my calories, it feels as if I'm able to eat more. It's a great motivator for me to workout every day!
I wouldn't call my weight loss successful though. It's early days I think.
I'm 300 + lbs.

Hey,
Counting calories and any type of exercise will work. If you are finding yourself not motivated to use the elliptical, find something else you like. I think half the battle to exercise is just finding something you actually enjoy doing 3-6 times a week. For me, I hated just going to the gym and doing weights on my own or running, so I could not motivate myself to go. But, I discovered a love for swimming and circuit training classes and am now down over 25 pounds since the end of November. And honestly, trying different kinds of exercise has been a lot of fun, and keeps things interesting. Best of luck to you...I am sure you will do great!0
