HIIT Training?

Just looking for peoples thoughts and opinion on this subject.

So far I have been concentrating on cardio, cardio, cardio. Now I have hit a wall and need to change things up. My gym is offering HIIT group training and I am kind of enjoying it. Just curious if anyone has done this and if it was effective for you and if you have any suggestions.

Thanks Shelley

I have done HIIT at home using various youtube video's and I enjoyed it. For me it was fast paced and very challenging but it was great to mix things up from just doing cardio alone

Me too. I do Turbo Fire. It has HIITs but I actually prefer the DVDs by Amy Dixon. Her HIITs are all Tabata and I think it's been helping get through Turbo Fire. In fact, Turbo Fire is starting to get boring after 13 weeks. I'm on the 20 week program and adding in the other HIIT DVD workouts have been able to push me through the Turbo Fire progam.

HIIT will activate hormonal responses that will allow for greater weightloss versus steady state cardio that can have the opposite effect. You can still do the cardio but do it easy and then incorporate sprints, hill repeats, or whatever way you decide to do the HIIT. Also resistance training will really help as well.
