Tired, irritable, depressed. Should I take a brake?

Before anyone suggests I've been under eating, I just want to say...I have. I've only been eating between 7800 and 8600 a week which works out on average between 1000 and 1250 a day.
I'm doing this because I have to (right weight to ride racehorses) but I just want to quit, I'm happy with how I look, I'm hungry, dissatisfied and angry, I've been in quite a bad situation in my life atm, and I get even more down with not losing weight. So I started to eat 1400 a day and I weighed myself and somehow I'm 2lb more (3 days running so it can't be water). I talked to my mum and she said that with how hard I work with my job (working with horses but not racehorses yet) that she is starting to really worry about my under eating I have a year to lose the weight of only 10lb, so I'm thinking of having a brake for a few weeks. (When I say brake I mean eating about 1900, not just eating what I want) to help my metabolism and release a bit of stress. Then after go on a 1400/1500 diet. I know I won't give up this diet with a brake because its too important for me to do what I want. So do you think this sounds like a good idea or a terrible one?

Edit: its also really hard for me to go beyond my natural weight. My bfp is only 20.6% I'm 5'7ft and a size 8/10uk and 4/6us (my measurements in being in cm 87 66.5 91)

Riding racehorses is a brutal profession. You will at some point have to decide between your health and your career.

    Good luck.
