I am new to this low carb diet and the family is ordering my much loved pizza. Is it safe to just eat the toppings and not the bread? I don't want to ruin my good progress.

While I am not familiar with what constitutes low carb, I know Dominos pizza has a nutrition calculator that will help you figure out their info on each pizza. Guess you can make one to your liking?? Good luck!

depends on what you mean by "safe" ... is pizza a trigger food for you? will you be able to count the calories of the toppings? what style of low-carb are you doing?

That should cut out most of the carbs, so you could do it that way. That being said, I do have to ask. If you've already lost 105 lbs (which is beyond fantastic), why are you switching to a low carb diet NOW?

It really depends on the toppings. The sauces are pretty much guaranteed to have added sugar, and some of the toppings probably will too. Maybe see if they have any salad options, but look out for the dressings.

Hi:) I tried to go low carb, but had no will power, so I just ate light. I figured if I eat light and exercise, it would just come off. After some time of the scale not moving, I got worried and went to my Endo who suggested that I do low carb and high protein. I had some pizza cheese, but it didn't taste right, so I ended up spiting it into a napkin. Pizza itself is a trigger food for me to eat ice cream and other fun things. I am only on day 3 of low carb and feeling energetic-no fatigue like before. Pizza would put me into a 'coma'. I have 40 pounds to lose and the scale was stuck. I couldn't figure out what else I could be doing. The endo educated me--my beloved oatmeal, light english muffin and orange in the morning was too many carbs, even though they are good carbs. He had me give that stuff up, including honey in my tea. My meals are mostly salads and protein. But…smelling that pizza…and remembering how I would always enjoy a couple of slices, having a cheat meal on the weekends…..I cannot afford that for awhile, at least until I can get that scale to move again. I am hypothyroid and have to work extra hard to meet my goal. I'm almost there and don't want to screw it up.

It was just plain cheese-I had a huge salad, though, to stave off the craving to eat the bread of the pizza. I make salads in advance and put them in 2quart mason jars. That way, they are always ready when I need them.
