Exercise After Breast Augmentation?

Hi ladies! I was wondering about the limitations of exercise after a breast augmentation and how long (generally) you are supposed to wait before engaging in exercise that involves the pectoral muscles such as push-ups, pull-ups, and acrobatics. Is there some light weight training that can be done after 4-6 weeks to help rebuild the muscle strength or should I wait the full 8 weeks post-op before attempting any type of exercise?
Of course I will be following the advice of my surgeon regarding this, but I am just looking for personal stories and experiences to aid my decision.
Thank you!

I had a reduction, rather than an augmentation, but it's still breast surgery so I thought I'd share my experience. I wanted the full 2 months before doing any type of weight training. Although I did do some cardio after the first month, and started walking around and doing normal things after the first 2 weeks. It depends on what type of surgery you'll be having. I had my nipple removed for the keyhole type of surgery (lift with reduction) and that made it difficult for me to lift my arms over my head since it stretched my scars. I actually had to go get an extra stitch because I tore a little bit after reaching up to guard my face when I woke up from a nightmare (the pills they gave me made me have the craziest dreams!). A friend of mine had augmentation and since hers was through the armpit, she had more difficulty reaching out, rather than up. But it'll be different for everyone. I'd say don't start sooner unless you get the ok from your surgeon. Wait the maximum amount of time he or she gives you. My opinion is it's better to be safe than sorry.0

It honestly all depends on how you are recovering… I have friends who were on the elliptical after barely 3 weeks of surgery and another friend who had complications and was having trouble doing any lifting and exercise for longer than 3 months.
I would see how you are doing after surgery as everyone recovers differently. Wait AT LEAST 3 weeks to a month. Then see how you feel! And make sure you do the massages the surgeon teaches you.0
