    It explains it all.

In short - MFP sets you up with a deficit assuming you don't exercise. When you exercise, you need for fuel (calories) for your body. You should always eat 50% - 75% back.

I really can't add much to the responses you've already gotten. Great advice.

The point is not really to lose weight as quickly as possible. The point is to make the time and effort to create healthy, sustainable eating habits and learn how to fuel your body appropriately. You should be working toward eating and exercising in a way that you can modify and maintain for the rest of your life. Exercising a lot and eating a little is probably not a good long-term plan for success.

    You're like a car.

20$ of gas will only get you so far. If you want to go farther/longer you need to add more fuel.

I will reiterate what I repeated in your other thread. There are many reason not to lose weight fast. Losing fast can lead to loss in lean body mass.. losing muscle, tissue, bone density can lead to a lot of issues.. such as a lower metabolic rate (both basal metabolic rate and resting metabolic rate). What this means, is where you used to burn 2200 calories as a normal TDEE, it can drop significant. This means, if you don't maintain a lower calorie diet, you will gain back weight a lot faster. Second, since muscle is lean and tighter, the more muscle you lose, the more body fat you will have. Essentially, you will just be a lighter version of your current self. Third, fast weight loss can lead to stretch marks and more flabby areas. And lastly, for many people who eat lower calorie diets, it tends to lead to binges.

You can keep asking this question.

The answer isn't going to change.

Therefore, do what you want. No one is stopping you.

why do you want to lose weight fast? Wouldn't you rather lose it permanently?

LOL its a give and take. I lost 70 pounds in 5 months by running a pretty serious calorie deficit. I lost a ton of strength, some muscle mass and 6 months later I noticed my hair was uniformly thinning out. My skin is doing better than some all things considered but it is starting to get a little loose.

Going back I would go back and do it again only because my skin isn't too bad but these side effects are very real and should not be shrugged off.

If eating 1200 calories really made you feel sick, you wouldn't be in a position to be trying to lose 47 lbs. You've been given good advice about how to lose the weight in a healthy manner, it's up to you whether or not you choose to listen.

    ^this

*And* it tends to make people cranky...and irrational...and leads to more bad decisions.
