Possible PCOS, need help to lose weight!

Long story short I lost around four stone and had more to lose around a year ago. Since then I've gained it all back and more. I'm the heaviest I've ever been. The gp suspects poly cystic ovaries I'm due for a scan in a couple of weeks to find out if this is the case, if not I will be referred to a endocrinologist to find out what's going on.

However what I actually need help with is how to lose weight. All my usual techniques of good old clean eating and regular exercise cardio and strength training isn't working and I'm continuing to gain weight which is making me very miserable now - it's been going on for a year and the doctors have just started taking it seriously!

Any help/ideas would be amazing!

Thanks in advance. I hope that makes sense!

Try having your thyroid levels checked. Also, reevaluate your eating. I thought I was eating clean until I realized my portion controlling was way off and I was actually eating too little calories!!!!
  • When i was 16, within 6 months to a year i gained 35kgs! No idea why either. Mum thought it was hormones etc. but i had really bad stomach cramps, back pains and all the fun stuff. So i went to the doctors and after alot of tests found out i have PCOS.

I started eating healthy and clean, going for walks and the gym but never seemed to lose any weight.. only about 0.5kg every 3 weeks but i would always put it back on..

I went back to the doctors and got my thyroid, insulin levels checked and they were fine.. I just wasn't eating enough calories as to what i was burning and pretty much made my body go into "Starvation mode" as he called it.
I re-did my menu and researched exercises and got a P.T instructor and now i weigh 79kgs :) and on my way to losing 15kgs!

So as Arielkaylou said check your eating portions and just keep at it :)

Feel free to add me if you need advice :)

Get your thyroid checked, along with your FSH, TSH, progesterone, insulin, ferritin, hemoglobin, and testosterone levels.
