Hi I was just wondering if anybody is training for a granfondo or long distance bike ride.
If so, what is your goal and training schedule...

I have a century coming up in September plus a couple of triathlons in between (a sprint in June & Olympic in August).
With the snow on the ground still it's been indoor riding only. I don't usually follow a plan per se, I just ride a lot (work is a 19km commute each way) and i go for progressively longer rides on the weekends.0 -
My longest ride this summer will probably be about 80 in a day. I am training for RAGBRAI, and there is a century ride available mid-week every year, but i will probably just take the normal route. I agree with Brain Sharpe, in that i have no schedule, i just try to take one long ride every week, getting progressively longer each week. Then i do a short ride once a week, usually only like 10-12 miles. I used to commute 12 miles a day, but i moved, and now have less cycle friendly roads near me.0
