Exercise and anxiety

Hello dear people,
I wanted to watch my diet and exercise regularly not only to lose weight but also to get rid of anxiety.(I have anxiety problems even on antidepressant). I started cycling 9 weeks ago,(I am a beginner, and I have a very sedentary lifestyle) but I barely used to do more than 30 minutes, and even during these 30 minutes I couldn't reach my target heart rate. So all my cycling efforts were as if canceled. Last week, I bought a treadmill, and started the treadmill journey, 30 to 60 minutes every day. It's been one week, and I still have anxiety, and worse than before.
Is it too early to judge of the efficacy of my workout?
I also want to know if some of you people who had anxiety got cured by your exercise and diet routine how long it took before you were completely anxiety-free.
Thank you for helping me.

I have occasional anxiety attacks. I don't think activity will cure anxiety. Meds and therapy are more likely to be helpful. Fitness can't hurt the situation, but I think is more therapeutic for mild depression than for an anxiety disorder.

Hello, I suffered from Anxiety for years on and off and used to be on anti depressants and beta blockers. I just decided one day that I didn't want to be taking tablets any more and weaned myself off them. I have the odd bout of anxiety but It can be months between them. I am quite a strong minded person and told myself that I didn't want to feel like this any more.

My husband is on antidepressants which he has been taking for over 15 years. He also suffers from anxiety, and when I met him a few years ago could barely go out of the house on his own. He now goes out on his own for 20 mile bike rides. He occasionally feels anxious, but has come on a lot since we have been together. I had to be harsh with him at times as he would play on his anxiety so I used to be a bit tough and tell him that he needed to start thinking positive instead of being negative all of the time. (He always thought that something bad was going to happen) It was just how I dealt with it myself and It seemed to work with him too. I am not saying that this will work for you but from my experience anxiety is brought on by worrying too much. Good luck and I hope the exercise helps you feel better.
