Weighing and logging: frozen

Hi guys,

Just a quick question re: weighing and logging products that are cooked from frozen. Today I have bought some meat that is specified at 138 calories "per fillet", or 162 calories "per 100g".
These products are to be cooked from frozen - just wondering if I should weigh them and calculate the calories based on their weight when frozen or their weight when cooked (which is rather different). When frozen each "portion" is weighing out at around 115g, putting them at good 50 calories or so above the calories per portion specified on the packaging!

Many thanks in advance

You will get differing views, but for me weigh frozen

The "portion" bit is just an average, weight is not

If you weigh cooked calories will vary depending upon method & length of cooking, grilling versus deep frying for instance

PS, your observation regarding calories given on packaging per fillet aptly demonstrates how many people slip up by just taking the calories per portion size given on the pack and not weighing their food
