Loosing Control!!

I have lost about 70 pounds, and have 5 more pounds until I reach my goal. I have done so good this far saying no to sweets and overeating, and making sure I really want something before eating it. Lately I feel as if I am out of control, loosing my ability to say no to things I know I don't want or need. I have always given myself treats here and there when I want them, but lately it has been too much. I just feel like the last couple weeks I have been eating like a pig and I can't seem to get control. I am so scared to gain the weight back...

Put a "before" picture on your fridge and don't buy anything that you will binge on. Don't forget how far you've come.

Are you logging your food before you eat it, so you have a running total of calories consumed. That might help you to say "No" when you find that a treat puts you over your daily recommended calories.

Also, it might help to plan your splurges (I will eat half a pint of Ben and Jerry's, and share the other half pint with my best friend/spouse/kid) rather than spontaneously combusting and consuming a full bag of potato chips.
  • Thanks for the advice, things I know all too well, but needed to be reminded!! The cold, crappy weather where I live definitely isn't helping. Need to remember I have lost this much, I WILL loose the rest. And not to beat myself up so much, just make better choices next time.

Also reassess your calorie goal. Are you eating too little? Are your eating enough exercise calories back? Have you increased your exercise without increasing your calories? Are you restricting foods you love too much?
Also congrats on the great loss thus far!
