Hello post

Hi everyone. I've been using mfp for some time but hadn't ever posted on here and thought it was about time I introduced myself.

My goal is to both lose weight and run the twin cities marathon on the 6th of October this year. I've lost 29 lbs so far and I'm currently on track to run approximately a 4:22 marathon using http://my.asics.co.uk/ as my coach. I have another 16 lbs to go and that might make my predicted time lower and of course be easier on my joints. This is not only my first marathon but my first race. I hope to gain some motivation and encouragement from the others on this board and will do my best to give like wise.

I live in Minnesota and have been running for the past 9 months in the elements as well as on my treadmill when it was too hazardous outside. I prefer outside but sometimes it's just not very practical. I have cold weather gear but I run on the streets and there are times I can't trust the cars not to hit me.

Are there any other runners here gearing up for a race?
