How do I know if my diet profile info I gave & my goals are correct?
This is what I filled out when I set up my account a few days ago.
Current Weight: 245 lbs
Goal Weight: 145 lbs
Height: 5 ft 6 in
Gender: Male
Age: 43
How would you describe your normal daily activities?
Sedentary: Spend most of the day sitting (e.g. bank teller, desk job) ***aside from the 20 mins on the exercise bike I don't really do anything I can measure as exercise yet.
How many times a week do you plan on exercising? 5 workouts / week 20 min. / workout
What is your goal? Lose 1.5 pounds per week
based on those answers my suggested nutrition and fitness goals are
Net Calories Consumed* / Day 1,690 Calories / Day
Carbs / Day 211.0 g
Fat / Day 56.0 g
Protein / Day 85.0 g
I can do a fair job of calculating calories, but I don't really understand...have a hard time remembering, what food groups or specific foods Carbs, Fat & Proteins come from. Simply put I need help.

Cute dog!
You will probably want to set to sedentary or lightly active from your job description. The exercise routine in MFP does not actually work into your calorie goals it is more just for goal setting. You log your workouts when you do them and that is when MFP will account for them.
You don't really need to worry about macros too much unless you have a goal for them. If you are going to start lifting weights then you might want to think about increasing your protein. The MFP recommendations for protein are pretty minimal. To increase protein think meat, eggs, cheese, greek yogurt, and nuts/seeds.0 -
Yeah, you are Sedentary. Even if you start doing more exercise, you'll still be a Sedentary lifestyle with exercise that you'll add in. Planned bursts of exercise go in your exercise log, but they aren't your daily lifestyle. That would make you end up giving yourself credit twice for one activity, and that's not realistic.
As for the macros, you'll catch on to that as you go along. Just start logging what you eat, and then look at what it says across the board. Your diary will tell you that something has X grams of carbs, X grams of fat, and X grams of protein. Look at that each day, read it. And look at what it does to your total numbers at the end of your day. After a few weeks, you'll get familiar with which macros are in which kinds of foods.
Or just ask the Googles. They know everything.0
