Does it work this way?

I saved 400 calories from yesterday so I could eat a really bad dinner tonight...though to be honest I forgot about it and ended up eating pie. Whoops! It was starting to get old, and I didn't want to throw it away so I just ate some. Anyways, since I had an extra deficit yesterday, does that make up for going over today? I've heard about people saving up calories for the weekend so they can booze it up, but I'm not sure if that actually works.

I don't kno. I rarely have calories left at the end of the day, I tried to "save" calories once and I didn't lose anything that week. So, maybe it all depends on when your weigh in is. So if you are over today, maybe wait till Friday to with in, while staying at your regular caloric intake. Your body don't work 24 hours at a time. It don't tell time. The reason I say to wait to weigh is to give the mass the time to pass.

Yes you can save calories from one day or the next.. In fact, some of the members will save calories all week so they can have a cheat meal on the weekend. As long as you have a deficit over the week, you will still lose weight.

Generally, yes, it's okay to eat a little less today so you can eat a little more tomorrow, as long as it averages out over time.

Yes. Look at your nutrition for the past 7 days, not just today.

Oh okay, thanks. I don't plan on doing any weigh-ins until I get comfortable with my routines and keep them steady for a couple months, so I don't have to worry about that :D
