So good....then came the peanut butter

Ughh....so I actually did relatively well on eating today...until after dinner AND dessert (I went 50 some over total which really I've been thinking of upping to 1,700 anyways). Then my 2 year old decides to feed me crackers and peanut butter...and I love peanut butter so I just kept on eating more and more of them. I didn't even count :(. Looks like an extra hard work out tomorrow. By the way this was also a similar to my slip up with chips and salsa last week. Seriously, how do I tell my 2 year old not to feed me?

I tell my 2-year-old, "Mommy's not hungry. You can eat it." Works every time!

Don't worry about it. It took more than one bad day to out the weight on in the first place. One bad day won't sabotage all your hard work.

    aww. That is cute though.

Tell her mommy needs a foot rub, lol.

I had a hefty piece of bourbon cake tonight so I wouldn't make an old lady feel bad. then I came home and searched for bourbon cake calories.

    He's clearly sabotaging you :)

But seriously, a little "no thanks" goes a long way with kids. My son is 9 and I enjoy partaking in his junk every now and then (we like crappy cereal, donuts, cake, etc), but sometimes I'm just "ehhh" about it. I like to think that I'm subliminally teaching him self-restraint and manners, but who knows what goes on in their heads.

I tell my kiddos. "No thank you, I'm full" But in most cases, they only want to share their broccoli or spinach. :)

However, it's hard to say no to peanut butter on a cracker. One of my favorite foods. However, I realized that one cracker tastes AWESOME but each cracker after that isn't that awesome and at a point I was just eating to eat.

I can totally relate, I had a similar episode with my three year old daughter this weekend... and Nutter Butter mini-cookies. I usually tell her I'm not hungry when she offers me her snacks, but it was peanut butter!!

Children need to be taught to only eat until they are no longer hungry, so you can model the behavior next time by just simply saying "No thanks honey, I'm not hungry."

I buy the single serve peanut butters by jif. so when I eat the whole thing I know exactly how many calories I had. you could buy these with the mini ritz and then pb and crackers will be a nice small snack next time. I love me some peanut butter. I went over today too. Just work out extra tomorrow and it will even out. Gotta treat yourself sometimes. :drinker:
