My favorite tilapia recipes
Tosca's Tilapia
1/4 cup olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. dried mustard
1 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. chili powder
1 pinch cayenne pepper
4 tilapia filets, thawed
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. In a medium-sized bowl, combine olive oil, garlic, and seasonings. Dip each filet into the seasoning and place it on the baking sheet. Pour any remaining seasoning over the filets and place in oven.
Baked Tilapia with Veggies
4 tilapia filets, thawed
2 tsp. butter
1/4 tsp. Old Bay seasoning (I just use SeasonAll)
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1 (16 oz) package frozen cauliflower and broccoli (I've done carrots, too)
Preheat oven to 375. Line a 9"x13" pan with foil and spray with cooking spray. Place fish in bottom of pan and dot with butter. Season with Old Bay and garlic salt. Arrange frozen veggies around fish and lightly season them with salt and pepper. Cover the dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, until veggies are tender and fish flakes easily with a fork.
Parmesan Crusted Tilapia
3/4 cup Parmesan cheese
2 tsp. paprika
1 Tbsp. parsley
salt and black pepper to taste
4 tilapia filets, thawed
olive oil (1-2 Tbsp)
Preheat oven to 400. Line a baking sheet with foil. Mix parmesan cheese, paprika, and parsley in a shallow dish. Season with salt and pepper. Drizzle tilapia filets with olive oil and dredge in the parmesan cheese mixture. Place filets onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven until the fish flakes easily with a fork, 10-12 minutes.
Baked Tilapia in Garlic & Olive Oil
4 tilapia filets
4 cloves crushed garlic
3 Tbsp. olive oil
1 onion, chopped
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper (I use less because 1/4 tsp. makes it very hot)
Rub the fish filets with crushed garlic, then place them in a shallow non-reactive dish (not metal). Spoon the olive oil over the fish until coated. Place the onion on top of the fish. Cover and refrigerate overnight to allow the fish to soak in the marinade. Preheat oven to 350. Transfer fish to a 9"x13" baking dish along with the olive oil, garlic, and onion. Sprinkle the fish with cayenne pepper. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
