Has anyone tried Body Revolution and/or P90x3?

I'm torn between buying Body Revolution and P90x3.
I've lost all the weight I'm looking to lose; I'm just looking to add on some muscle now. (Come out abs! I know you're in there!) And 30 minutes a day is pretty much all the time I have to workout.
On one hand, I love Jillian. I've always enjoyed the couple of DVDs of hers that I've tried and I still do the 30DS a few times a week in my workout rotation. But I've seen reviews saying that Body Revolution is too easy. Or that it just recycles moves that she uses in the 30DS and other DVDs and it's not worth buying. Of course these people could just be negative Nancys, but I'm afraid to spend over a hundred dollars on something that might not give me the results I want. I'm also apprehensive because I saw a comparison of it to the original P90x and it made it sound like Body Revolution was more for weight loss and less for building muscle.
On the other hand, my boyfriend has been doing P90x3 for a couple months now and he really likes it. On Saturdays, we work out together and I really like the DVDs of it that I've tried, like the Warrior and MMX. But the days that focus on upper body strength or legs look like they might be too tough for me. And there's definitely nowhere in my apartment to use a pull up bar, which seems to be a required piece of equipment. (Maybe I could skip pull up exercises?)
Has anyone tried these and could tell me why they like or dislike them? Or, better yet, have tried both and be able to tell me which worked better for them?

I love that you posted this question. I have done body revolution 3 times and saw amazing results. However I just had a baby at the time and had a lot of weight to lose. A few days ago I got p90x3 and can't really talk much about it but from what I have previewed, IMO if you are a beginner I would start with body revolution. I never thought it was easy and just like jillian says, "if you think your a badass then use heavier weights." The best thing so far is that a lot of the moves in body revolution are in p90x3 but definitely more advanced. My husband is in the same boat as you and he's starting with body revolution so he can gradually progress to p90x3.
You can add me if you have any questions about body revolution. I'm a huge jillian fan and you can't go wrong with any of her dvds.0 -
If you don't have a doorway to accommodate a pullup bar, you can always use a resistance band. Provided you have somewhere to loop it through. If your boyfriend has P90X3, check out "The Challenge" workout. One of the participants is using a resistance band in place of a pullup bar.
As for the P90X3 upper body workouts being too tough for you, again, if your b/f has them, give them a try. You're not competing against anyone. Especially not those in the video. Just do what you can do. The idea with P90X3, or any workout program, is to improve yourself as you go on. If you can't do a pullup, use a chair to help yourself up. Work you're way up to do two with a chair, then three, etc. Eventually, you'll be able to do one without the chair, then two, etc.
Good luck!0 -
I've not done p90x3 yet but I am in the last month of body revolution.
I'm not very fit so body revolution has been pretty challenging for me. I've seen improvements in strength and fitness level so it's working for me.
Mind you it might not be as much of a challenge for those who are actually fit.0
