I like my new scale and all, but I'm uber confused. A serving out of the can of beans according to label is 1/2 cup (130 g). It says it has 3 1/2 servings per can. I weighed out 130g for my boyfriend and there was only 111g left.. so not really even 2 servings in the can. My best guess is that it has 1 1/2 servings of just liquid in the can. The liquid, I'm assuming, should have a different calorie count from the actual beans. So.. in the case of beans, using a measuring cup will be more accurate than weighing, I think. Is this correct? Do you weigh or measure beans?

i would weigh the beans, no liquid, but I am curious about what others think about the overall issue you bring up.0

I drain them and then weigh them.0

Wow.. I really thought this would have more answers by now. I look in other threads and people are talking about weighing foods religiously, but hardly any to actually help with this. Well, thanks, ladies.0

Drain them, then weigh the beans, then divide that number by numbers of servings.0
