Bruised knee bone

In an amazing fit of grace I did a full barrel role after slipping on some ice and managed to bruise my knee pretty badly and it's pretty swollen, even now a week later.
I'm pretty determined to not let this be an excuse for me during work outs, just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to speed up the recovery on this?? Not doing things to make it hurt is pretty well out of the question because walking and bending both aggravate it quite a bit.

Sorry I had to get that outta my system.
I once messed up my knee something awful last year, and it took 2 months to fully recover because at the time I didn't realize I had seriously injured it, and so kept using it like normal. My advice would be to use RICE - rest, ice, compression, elevation. Getting a knee brace might help. I had to suck it up and limp for all the 2 months to avoid injuring it further. Good luck in your recovery! :frown:0 -
Thanks so much for the advice!! Here's hoping it works... haha resting is probably one of the things I am the worst at... but we'll see0
