Foods to stabilize sugar rush?

I usually eat a healthy diet and avoid foods with added sugars but sometimes I'm caught off guard (such as having to stay on campus unexpectedly) and have resort to foods with added sugar such as flavored yogurt or granola bars. Even fruit sets it off sometimes. The sugar in these foods leave me feeling super hungry, light headed and shaky after eating them and I usually end up eating terrible junky foods to get rid of the shaky feeling. Are there any foods you could recommend I eat to counteract this weird sugar rush? Thanks. I know avoiding these foods at all costs is the best way to go about it but I'd just like a back-up plan as a safety net for any future cases.

Anything that is nothing but protein, cinnamon and fiber. Buy a box of fiber one and stick it in baggies and take it with you. after you eat the sugary stuff eat some of that. Cinnamon pills can be bought at a health store0
