Hey guys I need some help....
I'm dragging after my cardio and weights and no I don't take in enough portien post workout. So I have a great protein powder I want to use and just started putting in my estimated meals for tomorrow. Right after lunch it put my protein at 60% and my goal was 20% something sounds weird to me.
My protein is 20 g is my goal way to low?
Thanks:)

20G is pretty low, what do you have your macros set to?
ETA: 1g per pound of lean mass, I set my macros to 40/30/30 Carbs/Protein/Fats, works for me and pretty simple to hit with a broad range of foods.

20g Protein total for the entire day?!!! Yes, that's low.0

I can't see your diary or your goal settings, but if your daily goal for protein is set at 20g I deem that to be very low. I eat between 110-130g protein a day (1g per pound of body weight) and it works for me0

I try for 20g+ of protein per meal/snack. I agree that 20g for an entire day sounds way too low.0

20g for the whole day?
I have mine set to 140g but really I'm happy with anything about 120g0 -
I've read that you should eat your weight (lbs) in protein (g).
In example, if you weigh 150 lbs, you should aim for 150g of protein.0 -
Thanks guys!!! My settings are messed!!!!0

20g is the low, low...lower than a midget on his knees. I consume about 150-160g of protein a day.0

20 g is way too low. Nothing bad ever happened from getting too much protein, so have as much as you want.0

You were only looking at one meal, correct? Your macros will move around throughout the day depending on what you eat. At the end of the day they should be where you want them to be. You can see at the bottom how many g left you have to eat for the rest of the day, you can eat according to that to know how much more of each macro you need.0

0.7g per lb. is what's typicaly necessary to maintain lean muscle mass.
I know a lot of people have told me before to eat more protein. Most of these folks were getting body builder tips or advice from trainers that are trying to train them to get muscular.
I'm currently at 215lbs and my goals says to consume nearly 90g of protein (I don't know why). My friend says I should be eating 215 grams a day, but my sister who's been a nutritionist, says I'm fine, but could consume up to 150g for optimum gains.
I find that a lot of people tend to over eat because they start working out, and that tends to be what screws them up, because they'll take a break and continue eating the same amount of food "to maintain".
Do what's good for your, what's good for others, won't always be optimum for yourself.0 -

Actually, it can lead to something bad. REAL BAD! But maybe not immediately....Google it!
(I was once on a low-carb, hi-protein diet. My doctor told me to stop that immediately after doing it for a year.)0
