"Junk food" doesn't really mean anything, as everyone has different definitions of what it is.

There's no such thing as unhealthy foods, just unhealthy portions of it.

I would skip on that 40 day challenge that will most likely only encourage bingeing sooner or later, and just start practicing moderation.

Eat "healthy" (whatever that means to you) 80% of the time. Fit yummy, portion-controlled treats into your calorie goal.

A better challenge would be to spend 40 days learning to log everything you eat accurately & honestly. Logging is simple, but it ain't easy.

Is the 40 days for Lent? I only ask because I'm giving up wine!
If it is Lent, think about your go-to comfort food--mine would be my sausage pizza...maybe yours is McDs fries! (which is my other one!) Then, use that money or calories for something else that makes you happy. My favorite wine is about $14/bottle...so $84...I plan a mani-pedi :-)
Whatever you decide...enjoy your journey and good luck!
