I have a daughter who is mixed. her hair is fairly thin, curly and mostly frizz free. however she has one section in the back under the top layer but above the bottom layer that is extremely frizzy. I have tried all kinds of hair products on it and nothing is working. she has to wear her hair in a pony tail or a bun all the time as because of that one spot once its dry it gets really rather big. any suggestions on what I can put in her hair to calm this spot down and she doesn't have to put it up would be awesome. she gets picked on at school when she wears it down but really wants to be able to without the problems.

I was going to put a relaxer in it but don't know if that is wise as she is only 9.

PLEASE HELP if you can

thank you

You might want to google hairstylist in your area that specialize in curly hair and pay their salon a visit for a consultation. My daughter has long curly hair and was finding it difficult to manage or would end up with horrible haircuts from stylist that didn't understand curly hair. After visiting a few that she found online (and read reviews) she finally found one that knows his stuff and now she wears all these cute styles and can wear it down. He also provided her with products that work for her hair. I hope this helps or gives you a starting point.

Not sure how long her hair is but the longer it is the added weight should help weigh down the curl...
There are several different things you can try, you can use styling products and leave in conditioner in equal parts or a 1:2 ratio in the summer when there is more humidity. Also after she washes her hair the more you or she run your fingers through it the frizzier it will become. I would apply the product pick up sections and kind of twirl them or twist them and let them dry naturally. When her hair is completely dry she could put a smoothing serum (cream or gloss depending on how oily her hair is) and smooth the sections so they lay in ringlets or run her her fingers through it for a fuller less defined type of look. In extreme cases a relaxer may be needed and could be done in just that section. These are things that have worked for me in the past but as stephsmom suggested finding a good stylist in your area is the best solution in the long run...Hope this helps

Get a wet2straight hair straightener and get her hair done with that.
This is how I tamed my sister's hair until one day she decided to cut it to her shoulders. I raged.
