I keep seeing things about it, is it a better method than calorie deficit?

It's still about a calorie deficit -
TDEE = total daily energy expenditure, your BMR plus your daily activity and exercise - basically the number of calories you burn in a 24 hour period based on your age, height, weight, and activities.
With the TDEE method, you eat in between your BMR and TDEE, generally taking a cut of 10-20% from the TDEE number to create the deficit, and eat that number every day. With this method you do not eat back exercise cals.
Really it's close to MFP if you have your loss goal set realistically and eat back your exercise cals, the numbers come out pretty close.0 -
I'm confused about this is as well.
I am 5'8 and 215 pounds. Probably about 30 pounds overweight? Give or take. My tdee was like 2675 and bmr was around 1975. So I still need to eat 1975 calories if I'm trying to lose weight ? (I'm lifting and doing cardio) I know weight loss is not instant but this still seems like a high number of calories to eat when tying to lose weight?
Someone care to clarify/explain further ?0 -

I heard somewhere that 1200 is minimum for females and for males it's 1800, personally I wouldn't want to go below 2200 but if i have to, 2000 is the lowest I'm willing to go. Right now im 2 weeks into my cut and getting about 3050 down from 3500 and lost about 2 pounds so fare. I dont cut my calories too drastically because im trying to retain as much muscle as possible during my cut.0
