Does anyone else sit on their balls?

I bought an exercise ball to use in the office instead of my usual chair. Does anyone else do this? Do you think it's at least marginally better for you than sitting in the usual office chair all day?

    The topic made me giggle.

I don't but I think it sounds like a good idea, at least for part of the day/night. I have an office job and don't move around nearly enough.

No. They're just in starvation mode from all the negative calories they've been consuming.

I've sat on balls before and they're not all that comfortable personally.

It's supposed to strengthen your core muscles something fierce. I wouldn't know because the few times I have been on one, I was promptly off of it, face-first I might add. I have all of the coordination of a deer within the first ten seconds of its life. Sup?

I used one few times while at work teaching guitar. But one day, as I was getting ready to sit, guitar in hand, the heel of my foot hit the ball, which of course went rolling backwards, and down I went. No more ball-sitting for me. It was good while it lasted :)

I guess it would all depend on if your balls are big enough. To reach your desk...

Here's something that lists 10 benefits of it though:

No, but we did modify our office clerk's work station.... she was worried because she sits all day (so do I)... but we moved her station to a higher counter/desk with a stool-like chair and she can sit/stand at will... she can stand and work on her computer. Now I need the same set up (and I'm one of the business owners!)

That is an experience you only need to have once to realize it's a bad idea. Trust me on this.

My grandfather always said learn from others' mistakes. I'm taking that advice on this one.

I felt it in my legs a little but I stayed more alert and didn't feel like my booty was cramping by the end of the day like I usually do.

Wow apparently at least one woman has found some "unique" benifits to sitting on hers.
