lose, pause, lose, pause, other questions

My goal (no time l one) was shooting to lose about 40 pounds total to be in great shape. Sure, I'm human and fell off the wagon a few times, and am riding the wagon great right now. Im about halfway to my goal, but here's whats been happening: Lose 5-7 pounds in a week to 10 days, then plateau for up to 4 weeks, then lose 5-7 pounds, and this cycle continues, and over the past three months i have lost about 15 pounds. My question on this matter is if this constantly hitting extended plateaus are normal?

Plus, i see that those whom are very overweight can lose weight rapidly at the beginning. I understand this can be water weight, but it all can't be water weight, so this question is, at what point, if known, does this rapid weight loss start/stop?

I started at 242, and was at 218 today (216 after the workout), and was 221 on Sunday (it's wednesday today). My next little goal is 200. I'd be happy at 200, and at 180 i think I'd be a great 45 year old specimen of health, i.m 5'10.

Although i didn't put a fixed timeline on the next weight goal, i'd be happy with 5-10 pounds over the next 3 or 4 months, but my 95% clean eating, and 99% staying below 2000 calories a day, along with exercising 6 days per week (3 days of weight training, 3 days of cardio) is making me think that i 3 pounds a week may be a trend until I plateau again for another week or two. How long do plateau's last.

Thanks!!!!

There may be a food you are eating that your body does not like. Or its possible you are carb sensitive. Stress can be a major factor. Getting enough water? There is lots of factors.

interesting thought on the food intolerance and water consumption. I'll go back over my diary and correlate it to my macros.
