Why Eating Healthy is Awesome

Proof that success isn't always weighed in pounds:
My diet before:
No breakfast
bacon cheeseburger or chicken nuggets, a side of fries for lunch (every once in a while I'd swap fries for a salad), a soda
pizza and fries or a can of ravioli for dinner
Fast food is veeeeery convenient on my college campus. Really the only thing healthy about my diet was the fact that I drank mostly water.
My diet now:
rice cakes and honey, or a peanut butter sandwich, or milk and cereal for breakfast, also sometimes a tomato
cheese sandwich or lentil soup or various healthy snacks for lunch
eggs and tomatoes and homemade cheese quesadillas for dinner (sometimes other cheap healthy things, but I get eggs for free from my grandpa, so I've been eating them a lot.)
I drink water or V8 Fusion.
I just started eating healthy and exercising, so I haven't dropped any weight yet (as far as I know; my next weigh-in day is Saturday).
However, I've seen a huge change in the way I feel. I have more energy, and I feel less heavy and bloated. I never even realized I felt that way until I changed my diet and started exercising. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Nice revelations and you are so astute to recognize the importance of just feeling better and more energized! Keep up the healthy eating and you will surely be rewarded with weight loss. Kudos to you!0

My horrible adult acne actually cleared up significantly as my diet got better. I haven't had any new breakouts, and my old ones are healing quickly. I ALSO have great energy, feel full all day long, and eat more now than I did before. So glad other people are seeing this awesome side effect of healthy eating. Congrats!0

Apparently, an object in motion has a lot more energy than an inanimate object. And to move we need proper nourishment!
Even the simple act of picking a salad instead of mashed potato or french fries is a big big step in the right direction for energy for your body. The idea of water instead of soda is just purely brilliant on any level since it has zero calories. And you can drink a lot of it with positive effects.
Before and after photos are always the most revealing. They literally always look like different people. The pic is 2 dimensional but if you could see that person walking down the street it would be even more revealing. And when you feel great it rubs off on other people.0 -
good for you!!! feeling good is much more important than a number on a scale! I noticed that I got fewer headaches, have a lot more energy, and feel more positive too. thanks for posting your success!0

Same here. Eating healthier has given me more oomph, bloated feeling is gone, I don't get sick with cold/flu, insomnia is gone, and (not so sound gross) I'm regular.
I never realized how bad I felt before because that was normal for me. I would never go back to eating junk on a regular basis again (although I do indulge once in a great while).
Good luck!:flowerforyou:0 -
When it comes to losing weight, it's been proven that just changing your diet significantly reduces body weight over time compared to exercise alone. And combining both diet and exercise is when you get the quickest results versus doing one over the other...duh0

Oh wow, I hadn't thought about that! I don't get terrible breakouts, but it would be great if a healthier diet clears up the ones that I do get0
