Binging a lot since I raised my calorie goal?

For a pretty long time I was eating between 600 & 800 calories a day. Now that I'm trying to get healthier, My calorie goal is 1300-1600. Ever since I've started eating that much, I can't ever just stop at 1600 calories. How does that make sense when I was only eating half that amount not so long ago? It really makes me want to go back to my bad habits but I don't want to do that to myself again.
