So ... I sing in a cover band and we're looking to add quite a few 80s songs to our repertoire. For those on this thread - would the 80s songs get you up on the dance floor???

Here's what we do and/or plan to add:
What I Like About You* – The Romantics
Break Up Song* –The Greg Kihn Band
Where the Streets Have No Name – U2
With or Without You – U2
    White Wedding* – Billy Idol
    Don’t Change* – INXS
Keep on Rockin’ in the Free World – Neil Young
If I’d Been the One – .38 Special
    Wicked Game – Chris Isaak
Just Like Heaven* – The Cure
Pride and Joy – Stevie Ray Vaughan
Summer of ’69 – Bryan Adams
Keep Your Hands to Yourself – Georgia Satellites
    Crossfire – Stevie Ray Vaughan
I Melt With You* – Modern English
Dancing with Myself *– Billy Idol
Mirror in the Bathroom* – The English Beat
Who Can It Be Now?* – Men At Work
Alive and Kicking* – Simple Minds
Rock This Town* – Stray Cats
    Jessie’s Girl – Rick Springfield
    You Shook Me – AC/DC
    Million Miles Away* – Plimsouls
Lips Like Sugar* – Echo and the Bunnymen
Blister in the Sun* – Violent Femmes
Should I Stay or Should I Go* – The Clash
Come On Eileen* – Dexy’s Midnight Runners

I like a lot of these songs but they don't all inspire dancing (for me anyhow)

    The best ones IMO are:

What I Like About You* – The Romantics (GREAT)

Keep Your Hands to Yourself – Georgia Satellites

Dancing with Myself *– Billy Idol (Good for pogoing)

Come On Eileen* – Dexy’s Midnight Runners

I love a-ha. The video to this song was very cool, too.
They were still putting out music up until a couple years ago and Morten Harket's voice is still amazing.

Agreed. There were good songs in there, but most were too slow to really dance to. I read "pogoing" as pooping. Add REM's "It's The End of The World As We Know It" to that list, and also House Martins' "Happy Hour".
