Healthy weight loss tips?

Hi! So I've been really struggling to lose weight. I started at 142, and stuck very closely to the 1200 calorie regimen. I've been working out, eating less junk an eating more veggies and fruits. I managed to get down to 128 I'm about 2 months, but suddenly my weight went back up to 142 even though I'm eating the same an doing PLENTY of cardio. I finally stopped putting my most of my exercising into the diary because I keep gaining instead of losing. I'm getting really discouraged because my goal is 120, and somehow I'm right back where I started. Does anyone have any good advice for losing weight?

Work resistance/strength training into your exercise routine. The problem with only doing cardio while eating a very low amount of calories is that it can repress your metabolism, which leads to a plateau. Doing high intensity intervals and strength training will lead to an increase in metabolism, making it easier to lose weight. Check out this video from Layne Norton. He has a PhD working on muscle metabolism, is a natural body builder/powerlifter, and a highly regarded fitness coach. It's definitely worth your time to check it out.
