Belly advice

You can't spot reduce. Abs are made in the kitchen. ETC.

I am 5'3.5 and 121lb, UK size 8 (US size 4?) I have fairly toned arms and legs from running/free weights but my belly area is holding fat. I eat healthily, I train.

Do I have to get totally emaciated to lose the belly pooch?

eat at a small deficet and start lifting heavy weights...

you are about the same size as my sister and she has a small belly from having a baby but it's going away doing the above.

She does 20mins of cardio a day, Karate 2x a week and 5-6 days of resistence training a week...the weights are heavy for her (uses only dumbells but is up to about 15lb for each hand)

I have stayed the same weight for 3 months now, but with the weightlifting my tummy is slowly receding. I also hold my weight around my tummy and love handles. Its pretty annoying but I think there will always be something there!

No, but it might be time to set a nice, positive fitness goal. Instead of, you know, the emaciated look.

Well I don't /want/ to be emaciated, but whilst I don't want to lose more weight I do want my middle to match the rest of me...

Thanks for the strong lift tips, I'm recovering from a neck injury so will look into how heavy I can go safely
  • I have this exact same problem, I'm 120lbs 5''5 and I still have most of my fat around my hips + tummy , I don't want to lose any more weight but I started running/some sort of aerobic exercise 5-6 times a week and yoga 2x a week and things are actually starting to look a bit better , SLOWLY xD but I'm no expert, I think it's just because I didn't exercise regularly while losing weight.

I'm 5'6 and 120lbs... And yes I still have some tummy fat.

Before children my tummy was in proportion to my body and pretty toned, i have accepted the little pouch as a souvenir of carrying my children :)

I believe that lifting and a slight deficit might chip away at those fat stores overtime.. Keep going!

I assumed you didn't. Not sure why thought my comment was serious.

But yes, fitness goals, getting stronger, those are the things I think will help.
