Better health and annual cold / flu

Here is something I noticed...

Since eating clean and exercising daily I noticed that I don't catch colds, etc. as easily. In fact, every year for as long as I can remember, weather I get a flu shot or not, I get the flu and it puts me down for a week. This year, last Monday in fact, I felt it coming on in the afternoon. We all know the signs/symptoms of the flu.. so I figured it was my annual thing. I went home early, got in bed and slept. Over about a day an a half I never actually got the flu but had some sort of a head cold. Nothing that made me truly sick, just irritating sneezy, itchy, kind of coughy. My energy levels were still up and my appetite was increased a bit. I spent a day and a half resting (as much as it killed me to do so), and ate what I craved giving my body the things it wanted e.g., fats, sugars, carbs, whatever... I figured it needed these extra things that I don't normally eat in order to assist my immune system and heal.

Low and behold, it's two days later and my bounce back is incredible. I went to a boxing class last night figured it would either make me worse or make me better. It made me better... the response I am getting from my body as far as energy, weight loss, stamina, focus, etc. is truly amazing.

It's a small thing I suppose but just something I noticed. If one is eating properly, exercising and getting plenty of water it makes all the difference in the world as far as the immune system.
