Eating before workout

I never used to eat before a workout but now that I am getting into better shape I have increased the intensity of my workouts. Today I noticed that I was dizzy and out of it when I got done. I realize it is the combination of vasodilation and a blood sugar crash. What do you guys eat before a workout that avoids this problem without feeling weighed down?

I don't eat before working out these days simply because I workout at 4:30 am. When I used to run in the afternoons and evenings though banana + peanut butter was my go-to snack. Easy on the stomach and quick to eat.0

Depends what I'm doing.
Before my long run, 90 minutes or so, I'll have a bowl of porridge with a handful of nuts, and banana. About 400 cals. Let it settle for 30-45 minutes.
For anything less than an hour I may not bother, but to get the best from the session I'll generally have some fruit, or possibly a granola bar and/ or a bottle of Science in Sport Go energy.0
