package shipping rant

I do most of my shopping online so i usually end up ranting alot but amazon has again made me shake my head. They use this crap where ups/fedex ships your item halfway and gives it to the post office. Problem is fedex hasn't updated in 2 days but the amazon site has. But when i asked amazon about it they claim they sent it usps and not fedex despite me telling them several times that the tracking only works on the fedex site. Anyone else have issues like this? I detest fedex smartpost and this shared shipping crap that isn't any cheaper than sending it all the way with one shipper.

    We have Amazon Prime. Everything is 2 day shipping for free. It's awesome. Or we can pay an extra $3.99 to have it overnighted.

    I also have Amazon Prime and most of the time it's great, but I've gotten several packages that were poorly packaged (not taped up properly or the like). Once or twice I've received an item where the packaging was almost literally falling apart.

    Yep, Amazon Prime. Free 2-day shipping, great access to free movies/tv, etc. Even when I didn't have it, I didn't have issues with amazon shipping, except very very rarely.

    i was thinking of doing prime but i think even then they'd do this fedex smartpost stuff. I wish they'd just give us a UPS option, ups never has issues when it comes straight to my door and it's here at 9am.

    I have prime and they use FedEx SmartPost for everything that you set up on a schedule, otherwise, all of my stuff from them comes UPS via the 2-day shipping option (free). I stopped using their recurring order option (they'll send it right away on a set schedule each month) since they only use SmartPost for those orders. I really dislike smartpost. If it doesn't fit in the mailbox I get a note from the post office to come pick up my package. It's a minor inconvenience, but an inconvenience nonetheless. I complained the few times this happened and they did issue a few credits to my account.

    I resurrect this thread because the morons at the post office have messed up twice in a week. A book has been MIA for a month after it was dropped off by the seller and i had a package from japan arrive with it literally so flat it could have fit in a mail slot. Amazingly the stuff inside was fine aside from a crinkled instruction manual.

    i have prime i live in the sticks so even though we pay for to days some times it is three and the post man brings it most of the stuff is always here when it is supposed to be except the one this week of course. but not bad considering we have had it three years.

    Amazon uses UPS for me. Weird. But it's totally worth the $$ for me... Also every time there's been an issue with a package, they've refunded me or sent me another one. Their customer service is great.

    Reminder though that if you go through smile.amazon.com to order, Amazon donates a small portion of your purchase to charity too!
