Hello everyone! Even though I am new to this website, I am certainly not new to nutrition and fitness. In 2007, I weighed 191 pounds and I was wearing a very tight size 18 (I should have been wearing a size 20, but I simply refused to do so). I had tried so many things to lose weight including all the latest fad diets like Atkins, the Zone, etc. only to discover that these quick fixes didn't last. I also tried stupid pills like Hoodia and Hydroxycut which had more side effects than I care to remember. Then I decided that I was going to start exercising and eating a balanced diet, cause even though I wanted something quick and easy, I think we all KNOW in the back of our heads that this is the only way to go and do it healthy.

I like exercise videos, and prefer the ones from Beachbody since they are easier to follow than some of the others out there. I have tried Tae Bo and a few others, but simply had better success with Power 90, P90X, Insanity, and Turbo. That being said, I followed the P90X diet and did those exercises daily and got down to 128 pounds and a size 6.

Yay for me, right?

Well, I was still treating the principles in the Beachbody nutrition books as a "diet" instead of a lifestyle change and a lifelong approach to eating, so after losing the weight, I gained some back. :(:(:(:(:(:( I am starting at 143 pounds wearing a size 10.

Since then, I have taken a great interest in nutrition and fitness. I have become a personal trainer, Turbo Kick instructor (can't wait to teach some classes in local clubs and gyms!!!), and even a Beachbody Coach. The reason I say this is not to promote any kind of product or anything like that. I am simply letting you guys know that I have literally sat down and studied for hours and hours on nutrition and fitness.

And with that being said, I know what to do...but now it is time for me to DO IT!!! I have designed a fitness program for myself using weight training incorporating the progressive overload principle as well as intense interval training such as Turbo Kick. I have also determined what my starting point for nutrition should be, and I am beginning to put it all into action.

I am here to keep my food/nutrition in check...and we ALL need support and motivation from others. And there's always new things that we can learn from other people.

I think together we can all beat this and get into the best shape of our lives. I refuse to stop until I reach all my goals, including my weight goal of 129 pounds and my clothing size goal of a loose size 6 (possibly even a 4!). And I hope that you will join me and add me as a friend so we can do this together!
