Not losing inches :/

So I've lost weight (30lbs) and I've barely lost anything. My hips are a tad bit smaller however my bust, waist, theighs, and arms aren't any smaller
Any ideas on why this is so? Or any solutions? I know you can tone with weight lifting but I have neither the time, money, or interest to get into that.

The weight you lost may be distributed fairly evenly throughout your body so that it isn't super noticeable. It's genetics really and you can't target any part of your body so I wouldn't worry about lifting weights to lose the inches you're looking for. Also, keep in mind it's unlikely you lost 30lb of fat. Some of the loss was lean mass and water.
Keep at it, you'll see progress soon enough.0 -
I felt the same way after the first 25 pounds I had lost. Felt I looked the same, clothes only fit slightly looser. Now I'm up to 33 pounds lost, and I swear I can tell a difference with every single pound I lose now. Maybe you're just hitting that threshold?0

what was your starting weight???? that may be a factor. According to you ticker you have 113 to lose...
You may need to lose a bit more to notice inches.
I understand you aren't interested in lifting weights not everyone is but you could start some sort of resistence training to help with those inches such as circut training with small dumbbells...bodyweight exercises...resistence bands etc.
I see by your profile you ride...that means you are working on your core and you are lifting a heavy saddle, brushing the horse down etc right??? do you muck out the stalls? carry bags of grain, throw hay? if so you are already lifting heavy things...(I know because my husband grew up on a horse farm and I know saddles are heavy and riding works muscles you never knew you had)...
ETA: all those things above are a lot easier for me now that I lift heavy...0 -
Often, with more weight one has to lose, one will have to lose a lot more at the beginning to get down that first pants size. It's not uncommon at all for people to have to lose 20, 30 pounds or more to do so. But as one keeps losing, it takes less weight loss to go down in sizes. As one gets down to the lighter end of the spectrum, sometimes all it takes is a 5-7 pound loss. Keep rolling, and do your exercise too to keep things shapely and firm. Many women are still afraid to touch a weight for fear that they will instantly bulk up but usually that's not so as it's so much harder for women due to hormonal profile, unless one has the genetics. The impression of "getting bulky" is the fact that muscle might be added but fat has not been lost yet, but when it is, that muscle will be a lot more compact because pound for pound, it takes up a lot less room than the equivalent amount of fat. This is where inch loss comes in. Some people don't lose all that much weight, but end up smaller if they're on a decent resistance training program and keeping their diet in check. Hope this helps!:)0

With 30 pounds lost, you must be at least 2 sizes smaller....right? I mean, you couldn't have lost 30 pounds and still be wearing the same size.
Are you trying to lose weight, or are you to goal? If you have a lot to lose that could be why you don't see it yet.0 -
Thanks for the responses guys- I'm trying to get down to my goal of 135lbs (I am 5'9"). I hope you guys are right and all I have to do is to keep on losing weight to see results. I mean I can see the difference especially around my tummy and face and neck it's just that I'm not loosing inches where it needs to come off (i.e. my hips)0

I think it will happen when you lose a little more. I didn't drop a pant size until closer to 35 lbs lost. I've dropped 2 sizes with the last 10 lbs though. I tend to carry my weight in my hips, butt, arms, and thighs. The weight loss was noticeable first in my face, neck, and waist.0

Of course you can. I'm not even close to going down a size yet.
Really just depends on your body type and where you lose weight from. I mean eventually those inches have to come off from where we really want them to!0 -

I guess everybody is different. I've lost weight all over pretty evenly and I've went from a size ten down to a size 4-6, and I've only lost 30 pounds. All of my tops (size S) are now too big. I think weight lifting and cardio have made the difference for me, though.0 -
Hi girl, nice weight loss already. You should be happy about it. I owned 5 horses, and I can relate to your goals...and the kind of exercise that's in your daily barn routine....lol
About your stalled weight loss: You have to remember that you used to carry an almost full water bucket (30 lbs) around with you at all times. Right now, you might be able to move around much better without the excess weight, and probably picking up and moving a lot more stuff around the barn. This could be an indication that your muscles have been responding, and they have started growing now. Your overall weight loss seems to be stalling, but you might still lose fat. Don't worry, trust the process. As long as you are moving and watching your calorie intake, you should be fine. You can probably reduce your calorie intake a bit more, but it's better to have a long term goal that you can make your lifestyle, instead of some quick fix that makes you miserable.
About weight training: No need to go to the gym, if you're throwing around hay bales. Just be sure to lift stuff up with proper form to avoid injury. You can study the exercise libraries online to find out how to properly perform popular lifts in regard to posture and breathing. A variety of squats and deadlifts can be performed without the need of barbells or dumbbells... Hint: think water buckets....
Good luck!0
