Hair Experts Please Help!

Hi,

I tested out a 2 in 1 shampoo/condititoner today and I was wondering if the shampoo cancels out the affects of the conditioner

Since shampoo has alcohols in it, and conditioner is silicone, does my hair actually become as moisturized as it would if i used a seperate shampoo and conditoner?

Thank you

Ok, I'm pretty sure this just won MFP forums for 2014. Everyone else can go home.

I'm a hairstylist. No it will not be as moisturized as if you used a separate moisturizing conditioner.

  • Well if you do it separately you can glob on as much conditioner as you like! So I vote yes to the divorce .
  • I'm a stylist and your right the shampoo will ruin how well your conditioner works. The best way to get your hair moisturizers is to try and make sure it can absorb the conditioning agents by making sure the shampoo is well rinsed and your hair isn't totally full of water. and always leave conditioner in several minutes before rinsing :) good luck
